THE European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), a bilateral foreign chamber that promotes European interests in the Philippines and vice versa, welcomes the ratification of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement.

"The ECCP welcomes the ratification of RCEP as this poses significant opportunities in terms of export markets, investments, and jobs for Filipinos," it said in a statement.

"RCEP membership will yield significant economic benefits for the Philippines. It will optimize the country's participation to the global value chain. The ratification of RCEP also sends a positive message that the Philippines upholds and values a rules-based trading system. When implemented, it will enhance competition policy, intellectual property rights, investment, technical cooperation, public procurement, among others," the statement sent to the media said.

With nearly 800 members, the ECCP offers a strong business network that holds great potential in translating to tangible business opportunities. It is a unique organization that offers membership as well as professional business services to members and clients.

Over the years, ECCP has also developed ties with all three branches of government and has been deeply involved in various advocacies to promote a more competitive environment for European-Philippine trade and investments.
