How will climate change affect the health of Filipinos in the next decade

Pru Life UK commissioned an independent study aiming to deepen Filipinos’ understanding of the effects of climate change on their health and wealth, and to guide the industry and the government in developing practical preparation and mitigation strategies.

Climate change is not just an environmental issue – it is a matter of human health and survival. This vulnerability is further worsened by unprepared health systems struggling to manage climate-sensitive diseases, while also responding to chronic health problems and emerging and new public health threats such as COVID-19. Through this study, lead author and planetary health expert Renzo R. Guinto, M.D., DrPH and his co-author Katrina C. Ceballos, MD, MBA delve into the impact of our planet's worsening climate condition on Filipinos' health and wealth, and offer recommendations for action.
