In the 19 April Agriculture committee meeting, the group received from Ms. Ruth Novales of Nestle Philippines, a presentation on the Face and the Thrust of the New Government, in which she introduced key government officials in key government agencies, new projects and programs, and initiatives of the new government on Agriculture.

The meeting was also graced by the presence of Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Ariel Cayanan, who presented on the priorities of the DA -- (1) Food production, safety and security, (2) review of Land distribution and utilization of distributed land, (3) Irrigations, and (4) Access to credit. With the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) Assistant Chief Mr. Joselito Antioquia, USec Cayanan also gave updates on the Memorandum Circular 5 on cancellation of import permits.
