ECCP Luncheon Meeting with DOT

03 September 2026 | 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Makati / BGC (TBA)

The Philippines continues to strengthen its position as one of the region's leading destinations for leisure, business, and investment. With its rich cultural heritage, natural assets, and growing hospitality sector, the country's tourism industry remains a critical driver of employment generation, regional development, infrastructure growth, and broader economic expansion.

As the Department of Tourism enters a new chapter under the leadership of Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay, there is a timely opportunity to deepen public-private collaboration in advancing a more competitive, sustainable, accessible, and resilient tourism sector. The European business community recognizes the vital role of the Department in promoting the Philippines as a safe and attractive destination for international travelers, investors, and tourism stakeholders.

In this context, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines is organizing an exclusive Luncheon Meeting with Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay. The event will serve as a strategic platform for dialogue between the Department of Tourism and the European-Philippine business community, with the aim of identifying shared priorities, strengthening industry-government engagement, and supporting the continued growth of the Philippine tourism economy.

The luncheon meeting aims to:

  • Gain insights into the Department of Tourism's policy priorities, strategic direction, and flagship programs under the new leadership;
  • Discuss opportunities to promote the Philippines as a competitive, sustainable, and safe tourism destination for international travelers and investors;
  • Explore policy and investment priorities related to tourism infrastructure, connectivity, ease of travel, and destination development;
  • Identify areas for public-private collaboration in hospitality, tourism services, skills development, and sustainable tourism; and
  • Provide a platform for European companies to share perspectives, best practices, and potential areas of cooperation with the Department of Tourism.

This luncheon meeting therefore serves as an important venue for constructive engagement between government and the private sector. Through this dialogue, ECCP seeks to support the Department of Tourism in advancing policies and partnerships that strengthen the country's tourism competitiveness, enhance visitor experience, and contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth across the Philippines.
