2026 IP Horizons: IP Enforcement and Opportunities in the EU‑Philippines Free Trade Agreement
As negotiations on the EU‑Philippines Free Trade Agreement (FTA) progress, intellectual property (IP) has become a key area of opportunity for European SMEs seeking to expand and thrive in the Philippine market. The evolving landscape of digital trade, e‑commerce, and innovation ecosystems is reshaping how businesses protect, enforce, and leverage their intangible assets.
The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, in collaboration with the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk (an initiative of the European Commission supporting European SMEs with IP-related issues), is proud to present the forum entitled "2026 IP Horizons: IP Enforcement and Opportunities in the EU‑Philippines Free Trade Agreement". The forum will examine how the Philippines is responding to global IP developments, ranging from digital piracy and counterfeiting to the protection of geographical indications (GIs), and how European businesses can align their IP protection strategies with both EU standards and Philippine reforms.
Designed as a platform for dialogue, the forum will bring together policymakers, regulators, IP practitioners, and SME representatives to share insights, case experiences, and collaborative approaches. By centering on the intersection of trade policy and IP, the event aims to equip European SMEs with the tools to remain competitive, compliant, and innovative in the Philippine business environment.
