2026 Energy Smart Forum

27 August 2026 | 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Philippine Energy Plan (PEP) articulates a pathway that moves the country toward a materially higher renewable share where reference scenarios target mid-decade increases, with more ambitious scenarios targeting up to 50% Renewable Energy (RE) by 2040. National planning documents and market activity show clear momentum toward a cleaner, more resilient power system. In line with this, the government's Green Energy Auction Programme (GEA) is scaling procurement with recent rounds targeting multi-gigawatt (GW) additions. On the policy front, reforms allowing 100% foreign ownership in renewable energy and streamlined application tools have catalysed more inflows and de-risked early-stage development.

The combination of regulatory liberalisation, large auction pipelines, and high-profile international investment offers a window to accelerate project delivery and to shift from incremental RE additions to integrated, grid-friendly systems that deliver firm, affordable power. Capturing these opportunities will be crucial to meet national targets while strengthening energy security and resilience particularly as the Philippines arrives at an inflection point in its energy transition.

In this pivotal landscape, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) proudly presents the 15th edition of its flagship energy event, the ENERGY SMART FORUM 2026, to be held on 27 August 2026.

This upcoming pillar event will feature a series of expert-led panels, keynote addresses, and interactive discussions that address the most critical developments and issues within the sector, including:

  • Highlight actionable policy and regulatory reforms shaping the Philippines' renewable energy and energy efficiency landscape;
  • Showcase of emerging technologies, commercial models, and solutions;
  • Promote decarbonisation, energy efficiency and smart infrastructure;
  • Explore financing and investment mechanisms to expand opportunities for private-public partnerships to accelerate investment in the energy sector;
  • Foster collaboration among government, industry, and international partners to drive innovation, policy alignment, and investment in the Philippine energy transition.
