Teresa Marble Corporation (TMC) is a Filipino company fully owned and managed by the Dee family. It started from a humble beginning in 1976 with a second hand compression machine which is a remnant of its logging operation and a few jack hammers which were bought by resources pooled in by the family. It was originally a quarrying company with marble blocks as its only product. Disappointing experiences of TMC in supplying the local processors made it decide to go into marble block exports and marble processing. Marble Line Sales Corp. became its marketing arm in the local market. In 1981, the tile processing machine was put up. Thereafter, the company started exporting tiles to Singapore, Japan and the United States. Slab processing machine was put up in 1983 and almost every year thereafter, new equipment are being added to complement its existing machineries. Among its new machines added this year (1995) are the BM 70-blade gangsaw, Breton 14-head auto slab polishing line and Pedrini tile calibration and chamfering line. Since 1985, it has developed its new product lines and TMC can now boast as a pioneering company in the production of marble fire-places and architectural components in the Philippines. Since 1985 too, it has been supporting the government’s effort in getting more export sales by joining the FAME Exhibit being sponsored by CITEM. TMC has also exhibited in Netherlands, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, U.S.A., in joint sponsorship with CITEM. It also participates in exhibits organized by the Marble Institute of America (MIA). TMC has been an active member of the MIA since 1986 where its Vice-President, Irene Dy, became a Director for Asia. In 1987, extensive hiring of young professionals to fill their technological needs was started. Professional training programs were given to the new recruits and old reliables. A developmental personnel program was put in place. Planning slowly evolved from a single person’s job to a corporate process. In 2017, TMC decided to focus on domestic construction, and brought with them their 40 years’ experience in the world market. Today, TMC with its management team hopes to be a leader in the industry in terms of quality and dependability.
