The CAGAYAN ECONOMIC ZONE AUTHORITY (CEZA) was created by virtue of Republic Act No. 7922, otherwise known as the “Cagayan Special Economic Zone Act of 1995,” which was authored by Senator Juan Ponce Enrile. It is tasked to manage and supervise the development of the Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport (CSEZFP). The Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport (CSEZFP) is a massive 54,000-hectare future-proof special economic zone and freeport in the crossroads of the Asia- Pacific region. It has its own dedicated international seaport surrounded by lush green mountain views, 40-kilometer pristine white sand beaches with over 32,000 hectares of protected area which is a home for natural wildlife. The Cagayan Freeport is strategically located between the Pacific Ocean and the Philippine Sea that enjoys proximity to lucrative overseas market such as Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and China. Being situated at the crossroads of international shipping routes between the West Coast of North America, East Asia and Southeast Asia, CEZA provides opportunities to establish new supply chains that would be responsive and resilient to the new global economy. This ensures that businesses within the zone have convenient access to global shipping routes and provide efficient transportation of goods and services.
