The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Materials Research and Development Program invites you to the "Leatherized Water Hyacinth Hands-on Training".  A two days hands-on seminar on Water Hyacinth Processing Technology to be held on the 4th to 5th of October 2011 at DOST Lahug Complex, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu, Philippines.

Sustainable Material For Eco-Friendly Products

Water Hyacinth often invades bodies of water that have been impacted by human activities thus creating flood problems.  DOST offers new ways of solving this problem by using it for the handicraft industries.  Water Lily is as strong as Abace.  The technology of leatherizing Water Hyacinth, developed by FPRDI, offers the creative sectors new opportunities to convert Water Hyacinth material into exciting designs.
