Executive Dialogue Series: Renewable Energy Investment & Grid Readiness
Western Visayas is emerging as a dynamic investment destination, with expanding industries and increasing demand for energy driven by sustained economic growth. As the region continues to attract new investments, ensuring a stable, competitive, and sustainable power supply has become increasingly critical. In particular, scaling up renewable energy deployment and strengthening grid readiness are essential to support new generation capacity and accommodate rising demand from both industry and communities.
Recent power supply challenges in the region including the multi-day outages in January 2024 and the yellow alert issued in early of 2026, have emphasized the importance of building a more resilient and flexible power system. These developments highlighted the need for timely investments in renewable energy projects, enhanced transmission and distribution infrastructure, and improved system integration to ensure that the grid can reliably absorb and deliver new sources of clean energy.
Building on these developments, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) in Western Visayas will convene an Executive Dialogue Series that provides an exclusive platform for engagement among senior decision-makers from key industries in the region. The inaugural dialogue will focus on Renewable Energy Investment and Grid Readiness in Western Visayas and will take place on 23 April 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in Iloilo City.
This session will convene senior corporate executives, energy developers, financial institutions, and government regulators to discuss key issues affecting renewable energy investments and the region's grid readiness.
