Through the Live, Work, and Invest in Europe series, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines has continued to connect European countries with the Philippines. Along the exciting journey, ECCP travelled with various C-level executives, entrepreneurs, and academicians who actively participated in the events. Following the series' success, the ECCP continues the informative session by virtually transporting you to get a glimpse of what Finland has to offer.
Finland has a highly industrialized, largely free-market economy with one of the highest GDP per capita in Europe. It is ranked as the number one business environment in the world in the Global Innovation Index due to its uniquely high levels of stability, continuity, and predictability. In terms of constantly adapting to the changing world, Finland has learned to work its way to globalization by undergoing a further transition to a service-dominated and technology-based society from a forestry-based economy. The major sectors that currently influence its economic development are biotechnology, chemical industries, life sciences, communications, and electronics and services. This, therefore, resulted in a high number of trademark and patent applications relative to the gross domestic product; development of data-intensive jobs; and innovations in SMEs. In having a knowledge-based and innovative economy through free trade and openness to investment in the globalized economy, Finland shows an indication that it can continuously thrive at a healthy rate in the coming years which gives the idea that it could offer growth potential and business opportunities across different industries.
The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines in cooperation with the Embassy of Finland invites you to learn more about Finland's growth and explore its trade and investment policies and other business opportunities.
