Accounting for Non-Accountants

27 April 2026 | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Every organization strives for profitability, healthy cash flows, and long-term financial stability. Yet many leaders and managers rely on financial reports without truly understanding how to interpret them or use them to guide decisions.

Financial reports are far more than compliance documents—they are powerful diagnostic tools. As the saying goes, "Financial Reports are as revealing of the HEALTH OF A BUSINESS as the pulse rate and blood pressure are indicators of the HEALTH OF A PERSON." Just as medical indicators help diagnose, prevent, and treat health conditions, financial statements reveal the strengths, vulnerabilities, and growth potential of your organization. To fully benefit from these insights, however, you must understand not only what the reports say, but how they are prepared.

This workshop is designed to bridge the gap between seeing financial statements as mere numbers and understanding them as strategic tools. By the end of the course, participants will be able to identify the elements of a borrower's basic financial statements, including the Statement of Financial Position and the Statement of Income. They will gain a clear understanding of common accounting terms, analyze business transactions, and follow the accounting process behind the preparation of financial statements. Moreover, participants will be able to explain the linkages between these statements, enabling them to move beyond surface-level reading and make confident, informed decisions that support the financial health and growth of their organization.
