Conflict Resolution and Negotiation in the Workplace
Workplace conflict is inevitable, particularly in multinational organizations where employees navigate differences in goals, expectations, communication styles, cultures, and organizational priorities. This workshop equips participants with practical communication and negotiation strategies for managing disagreements constructively, handling difficult conversations, and reaching workable agreements.
Grounded in established frameworks on organizational conflict management, difficult conversations, principled negotiation, and intercultural communication, the workshop takes a communication-centered and experiential approach to workplace conflict resolution and negotiation.

Session Flow
Module 1: Understanding Workplace Conflict
Conflict as a communication and organizational process; sources of conflict; perceptions, positions, interests, and organizational and intercultural factors.
Module 2: Managing Conflict Through Communication
Conflict-management styles, communication competence, active listening, reframing, emotional dynamics, and difficult conversations.
Module 3: Negotiating Across Interests and Differences
Principled and interest-based negotiation; positions versus interests; BATNA; options for mutual gain; objective criteria; emotions and cultural differences in negotiation.
Module 4: Applying Conflict Resolution and Negotiation
A workplace negotiation simulation integrating conflict analysis, communication, interests, negotiation strategy, and collaborative problem-solving.
Expected Output
Participants will leave the workshop with a practical framework for:
- Understanding conflict
- Communicating effectively
- Identifying interest
- Negotiating strategically
- Creating workable agreements
