Membership Meeting & Forum

The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) is pleased to invite you to a breakfast forum on the Eurozone Debt Crisis with our special guest speaker: Dr. Dan Steinbock, Research Director of International Business at the India, China and America Institute.

The Eurozone Debt Crisis: The Impact on U.S. and Asia

The Eurozone is coping with its worst turmoil since the Great Depression; the region is at a risky crossroads that continues to have serious implications to the world economy, especially with escalating tension in the Middle East. Meanwhile, U.S. unemployment remains high and the debt crisis has only begun. In the coming decade or two, the role of the large emerging economies (BRICs) will exceed that of the leading advanced economies (G-7), but even these high-growth economies are not immune to the risks in the West. Will China and the BRICs “save” the leading advanced economies? What will be the impact on Asia?

In addition to his advisory/consulting activities, Dr Steinbock represents India China and America Institute (USA), Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (China) and EU Center (Singapore). He contributes weekly on Roubini Global Economics, the world’s leading economic hub, and CNBC, the world’s leading business/financial network. In China, he contributes regularly to China Daily, the leading English-language daily, Global Entrepreneur, the leading Chinese business bi-monthly, and is a regular commentator in Chinese CCTV. He also contributes in Europe, India, ASEAN countries, the Middle East and Africa. Among other things, he is Visiting Fellow at Singapore EU Center. His most recent analysis of the debt crisis in the U.S. and Eurozone and the role of China will be published soon by American Foreign Policy Interest, whose chairman is former head of the Federal Reserve, Mr Paul Volcker.

We trust that you can find time to join this important and interesting meeting with Dr. Steinbock.
