Who we are. What we do.

The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) is a service-oriented organization whose main goal is to foster close economic ties and business relations between the Philippines and Europe. The ECCP does this by providing a wide range of business services and by creating linkages between companies, organizations and individuals with existing or potential business interests in Europe and the Philippines.

The ECCP sees itself as the stepping stone for Europeans into the Philippine market and for Filipinos into the European market.

Membership

The ECCP is a membership organization. The present membership stands well-above the 750 mark. It makes good sense to become a member as the Chamber provides a wIde variety of services to its member companies, individuals and organizations. ECCP makes its members' viewpoint heard on economic and business issues, legislative measures and administrative regulations; it identifies business opportunities and facilitates business contacts. The Chamber is also a valuable resource organization for business, company and product information. Philippine companies are assisted in technologies, products orservices and to expand their exports.

The ECCP acts as the secretariat of the Asia-Europe Foundation of the Philippines (www.asef.org) .

To keep its membership informed, the ECCP publishes and makes available to its members a number of publications, newsletters and circulars.

Trade Fairs

Visiting or exhibiting in international trade fairs is one of the most effective market entry measures. The ECCP, as an international trade fairs information center, provides extensive services to exhibitors and visitors of European and Asian trade fairs. The ECCP also represents some of the leading European fairs in fashion and textiles, consumer goods, electronics, information technologies, industrial goods, building materials, and food.

The ECCP endorses and co-organizes Philippine trade fairs and shows which are of interest to European exhibitors.

ECCP also created two affiliates in trade fair services.

Virtual-Fairs (www.virtual-fairs.com) recognizes international trade fairs as one of the most effective market entry tools. Acknowledging the potential of the Internet offered to exhibitors and trade visitors alike, Virtual-Fairs revolutionized the traditional trade fairs' setting and came up with 'virtual trade fairs'. Unlike 'on the ground' events where exhibitors are given days to market their products, virtual trade fairs give them the capability to showcase their products and services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, leading to bigger and more profitable business opportunities.

Fairs & More Inc. (www.fairsandmore.com) is an international trade fair company which organizes exhibitor and visitor packages for companies to internationally-recognized trade fairs, exhibitions and congresses.

Communications

The ECCP is on the World Wide Web; ECCP.com (www.eccp.com) was developed to benefit from the advantages offered by the internet in terms of access to information and low-cost communications. Members are given the chance to link their web sites to the ECCP website to benefit from e-mail connection with other members and the rest of the world. The Chamber houses an extensive library of books, publications, market reports and CD-ROMs.
